SEPTEMBER, 2021, ZOOM WORKSHOP
THE POLITICAL TO THE PERSONAL:
WRITING TO RE-VISION THE WORLD
with Poet, Claire Blotter
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH, 11AM- 1PM, PT
How does one clearly communicate political injustice & possibility through the lens of vivid personal experience? How to move audiences to compassion through connections that emerge from sharing meaningful human stories?
This ZOOM workshop, a “collaborative-shop,” really, will hold the space/opportunity for participants to work independently and in pairs to write and perform about burning issues of our time. We’ll play off each other’s symbols and stories and draw on group energy to examine our common challenges from Covid recovery to racial, economic & gender injustice to gentrification and climate crisis.
What does a future built on the lessons of the pandemic look like? How can we adapt our writing as non-didactic video scripts for social media where moving stories, rhythms and re-cycled symbols of today can help create a healed vision for tomorrow’s world?
TO REGISTER AND FOR MORE INFORMATION, EMAIL CLAIRE ON CONTACT PAGE.
Limited to 10 participants.
